Life is Feudal: Arden takes another step forward with the transition to the Open Beta Testing. This phase marks a significant milestone as we open the game to a broader audience, creating new possibilities for players to shape their experience in the world of Arden.
This patch brings a range of gameplay improvements and bug fixes, focusing on key issues and refining various aspects of the game that have been in development. We’ve also taken into account the feedback gathered during the CBT, which has been instrumental in fine-tuning these updates.
A major step forward has been taken – and there’s so much more to come. The insights gathered throughout this stage will help us refine and shape these future enhancements, and we’re excited to continue this journey with you.
Character progression
During the LiF: Arden CBT, the passive skill leveling rate was increased, allowing for faster progression. With the start of OBT, the rates will be adjusted back to the standard values for a more steady progression.
Active skill progression has also been rebalanced: it is slower at lower levels but faster at higher levels, making grandmastery achievable only through consistent effort.
Additionally, to help players develop core skills, we’ve boosted beginner bonuses: skill gain is 75% faster for the first 14 days after character creation, and players will earn 75% more experience.
- Fixed: Passive skill leveling will continue to progress while a player is offline.
- Fixed: When two stats are set to decrease, both will be reduced simultaneously.
- Fixed: Switching personalities will reset the skill cap only in the combat branch to match the levels of trained skills, while all other branches will retain the saved skill cap allocated for previously trained skills.
Note: Option to swap personalities is temporarily available only to the owner of the monument.
Claims
Private claims (up to 300 tiles) are limited to one per account. All characters on a player’s account can now interact with a personal claim.
Note: Temporarily, access to the second character needs to be granted manually through the claim management.
Upkeep without an active premium subscription:
- Upkeep requires payment in gold, silver, or copper coins.
- Payments cover up to one real month and the price is tied for each cell.
- If the upkeep isn’t paid, the monument starts to decay and disappears entirely within a week.
Upkeep with active premium subscription:
- No upkeep is required (support points can still be added for a month, but they aren’t consumed).
Permissions management
- Changed: Now the “Leave House” ability will be universally enabled (does not require permission).
Armorsmithing
- Fixed: The armor stats have been readjusted according to their tiers.
Procuration
- Fixed: The Big Drying Frame will not start the drying process until 10 hides are submitted (a message will be displayed informing that 10 hides are required) - players can no longer use 1 hide for the same output.
Forestry
In the OBT, tree growth is restored to the default speed, compared to accelerated growth during the CBT. Along with this adjustment, the following improvements have been implemented:
- Fixed: It will now be possible to plant spruce trees in forest soil without errors. Planting Spruce trees will be possible without any issues.
- Fixed: The "Snap off a branch" option will no longer appear on stumps.
Mining
- Fixed: Supporting Columns will now be displayed in tunnels.
- Fixed: The mine collapse will now occur within 10 seconds.
Farming
- Fixed: The compost heap will no longer function unless fully constructed.
Trade
- Fixed: The items in the market will now load and display properly upon clicking the market button in a trading post.
- Fixed: The “ajax” error will no longer occur when clicking on the trade log button at the trading post.
Guilds
- Fixed: The guild leader is now counted as a guild member.
- Changed: The number of premium characters required to build the monument in the guild has been reduced from 10 to 5.
- Changed: The cooldown for re-building guild monuments has been reinstated - 24h in real time.
- Changed: Minor guild leaders (viconts) now have the rights to change guild standings.
Map
As a further development of the map, we have installed a total of 9 bridges so that the players can travel all across the land of Arden.
- Fixed: The corresponding name of the region will now appear when a player crosses from one region to another on Arden.
- Fixed: The in-game map will properly display regions of Arden.
Green zone map
Features
In this OBT update, Arena will be enabled, while Instance Battles (IB) will remain temporarily disabled.
Technical issues, bugs, errors
- Fixed: The magnitude of debuffs will no longer increase when crossing server borders and will stay the same as in the profile. Same goes for the buffs, so the players can no longer stack damage boosts.
- Fixed: When crossing server borders, a character will no longer be unequipped of their armor.
- Fixed: The login issue affecting some players has been successfully resolved.
- Fixed: The crash with a horse getting stuck in the admin land will no longer occur.
- Fixed: The client will no longer crash when clicking the “Expel the Intruders” button on the Castle Keep.
UI/UX Improvements
- Fixed: The Horse Cart icon in the crafting menu now matches the model.
